Abstract:
【Objective】 In recent years, with the rapid development of the beef cattle industry in Xinjiang, insufficient forage supply has become one of the major bottlenecks restricting industrial growth. Actively exploring synergistic development models integrating beef cattle farming and forage cultivation is an effective solution to this issue. Such models can not only reduce breeding costs and improve economic efficiency but also promote the recycling of agricultural resources, achieving a win-win outcome for both economic and ecological benefits.
【Methods】 Through literature review and field research, relevant case studies were collected to summarize the current status of synergistic development between beef cattle farming and forage cultivation in Xinjiang.
【Results】 In Xinjiang, beef cattle farming primarily follows two models: "pastoral breeding and agricultural fattening" and " smallholder breeding with enterprise fattening. " Water - saving irrigation technology and permeable forage planting techniques have effectively improved the utilization of wastelands. Innovations in forage planting models have reduced costs for farmers and enhanced the profitability of beef cattle farming.Although Xinjiang has made progress in scaling up beef cattle farming and forage planting, the matching scale between the two remains to be further improved.
【Conclusion】 This report analyzes the current state of synergistic development between beef cattle farming and forage cultivation in Xinjiang, identifies existing challenges, and proposes corresponding countermeasures to promote the sustainable development of the beef cattle industry in the region.
