Abstract:
【Objective】 Study on the occurrence of fungal diseases on melons and green prevention and control technologies.
【Methods】 Field investigations and interviews on the occurrence of fungal diseases on melons were conducting in Payzawat County, Kashgar Prefecture. Relevant materials were compiled, analyzed and reviewed. We hope to explore green control strategies and proposed recommendations for the green prevention and control of diseases.
【Results】 Sowing time and planting patterns influence the severity of fungal disease threats to the melon industry. The main fungal diseases affecting melons are root rot and powdery mildew. Powdery mildew is a perennial airborne fungal disease prevalent in melon production. The dominant pathogen is Podosphaera xanthii. Chemical control remains the main approach, while the prevention and control of root rot mainly adopt furrow planting in agricultural production.
【Conclusion】 Expand the demonstration base area for simplified melon cultivation techniques and elevate agricultural premium brands. Promote simplified cultivation technologies including seedling, transplanting, fertilization, pruning, pollination, green pest and disease control, and harvesting. This approach reduces labor costs, minimizes fertilizer and pesticide usage, enhances melon yield and quality, and advances variety improvement, quality enhancement, and standardized production.
