Abstract: 【Objective】 To analyze the current situation and development trend of DUS testing for agricultural plant varieties in Xinjiang, and provide reference and direction for the further development of DUS testing for new agricultural plant varieties in Xinjiang. 【Methods】 Taking the DUS testing plant species and testing quantity of the Urumqi branch of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs from 2004 to 2024 as the research object, this study comprehensively and systematically analyzes the current status of DUS testing for new agricultural plant varieties in Xinjiang, and points out the development direction for the next stage. 【Results】 The DUS testing of agricultural plant varieties in Xinjiang has formed a DUS testing pattern for multiple plant genera (species), with the main focus on the approval of major crop varieties and the registration of non major crop varieties as a supplement; Gradually pioneering research on testing technology for Xinjiang's unique crops (such as medicinal plants, specialty fruits and vegetables), strengthening the protection of Xinjiang's germplasm resources and varieties, and assisting in the revitalization of Xinjiang's seed industry. 【Conclusion】 The DUS testing system for agricultural plant varieties in Xinjiang is sound, with advanced testing techniques, complete testing genera and species, and rich testing experience.
