Abstract:
Objective To explore the differences and correlations between photosynthetic and growth characteristic parameters of 40 clones of Larix sibirica, in the hope of providing reference for the breeding of high-quality varieties of Larix sibirica.
Methods 40 mature clones of Larix sibirica were selected as research objects, and their growth characteristic indicators, photosynthetic characteristic indicators and photosynthetic pigment characteristic indicators were measured for comparative analysis and correlation analysis.
Results There were differences in growth characteristic indicators, photosynthetic characteristic indicators, and photosynthetic pigment characteristic indicators among 40 clones of Larix sibirica. Among them, the YL-10 clone had the highest tree height of (15.877 ± 1.005) m, the YL-25 and YL-23 clones had also the largest diameter at breast height, and the YL-23 clone had the largest crown width. But, there was no significant difference in the number of main branches among the clones. The highest Pn and gs values were observed in the YL-14 clone, with values of (22.132 ± 0.184) μmol·m−2·s−1, (0.275 ± 0.006) mol·m−2·s−1, respectively, YL-27 had the highest Ci, YL-6 had the highest Tr, and YL-21 had the highest WUE, value was (12.828 ± 1.009) μmol/mol, YL-1 had the highest CE. The YL-35 had the highest Chla, total Chl, and Car content, with values of (1.257 ± 0.210) mg/g、(1.477 ± 0.201) mg/g、(0.280 ± 0.222) mg/g, The YL-29 had the highest Chlb content, and the YL-34 had the highest Chla/Chlb. The correlation analysis results showed that, there was varying degrees of correlation between the growth characteristic indicators, photosynthetic characteristic indicators, and photosynthetic pigment characteristic indicators of 40 clones of Larix sibirica. Among the positive correlation indicators, Chla had the highest correlation with total Chl, with a R of 0.990, followed by the correlation between Chla and Chla/Chlb, with a R of 0.763. The correlation between total Chl and Chla/Chlb was the third, with a R of 0.672; Among the negative correlation indicators, the correlation between Ci and WUE was the highest, with an R of −0.754, followed by the correlation between Tr and WUE, with an R of −0.431. The correlation between Chlb and Chla/Chlb was the third, with an R of −0.377.
Conclusion There are certain differences and correlations in growth characteristic indicators, photosynthetic characteristic indicators, and photosynthetic pigment characteristic indicators among the 40 clones of Larix sibirica. Therefore, in the process of screening or breeding excellent varieties of Larix sibirica, the influence of these indicators on excellent traits should be fully considered.
