Objective In order to enrich the excellent tomato varieties suitable for planting in northern Xinjiang, and to provide reference for the selection of tomato varieties in northern Xinjiang ecological area.
Methods 52 tomato varieties from other provinces were used as materials in the experiment, and the agronomic traits and fruit commodity characteristics of each variety were compared and comprehensively evaluated by genetic variation correlation analysis, cluster analysis and principal component analysis.
Results The coefficient of variation of 23 genetic traits of 52 varieties ranged from 6.83% to 121.07%, and there were significant differences in agronomic traits among varieties. The genetic diversity index ranged from 0.54 to 2.20, and the genetic diversity index of single fruit weight was the largest. Correlation analysis showed that there were different degrees of correlation among different traits. Yield per plant was significantly correlated with longitudinal diameter, transverse diameter, fruit number per plant, pulp thickness and fruit weight per plant, while fruit cracking was significantly correlated with peg size, stalk size, ventricular number and apex shape. There was a negative correlation between fruit number per plant and fruit thickness per plant and fruit peel color per plant yield. According to the Euclidean distance of 7.5, 52 varieties were divided into five categories: super high yield, high yield, middle yield, low yield and ultra-low yield. Using principal component analysis, 23 agronomic traits were simplified into 5 principal components, which reflected fruit size, yield, inflorescence development characteristics, fruit appearance and stalk length, respectively. Most phenotypic characters of 52 tomato varieties showed the same rule in correlation analysis and cluster analysis.
Conclusion FD-42 and FD-50 tomato varieties with strong crack resistance, good taste and high yield were selected by combining variety characteristics, cluster analysis and principal component comprehensive value.FD-43 has high yield, strong crack resistance, belongs to hard fruit type, suitable for long-distance transportation, and can be used as a characteristic breeding material.
